Intrado Inc. (NASDAQ: TRDO), a global provider of integrated data and telecommunications solutions, today announced the availability of V9-1-1(SM) Mobility Service for wireless service providers offering wireless broadband VoIP service. The solution, which is intended to give carriers a nationwide solution in support of their efforts to comply with the FCC VoIP 9-1-1 mandate, leverages existing V9-1-1 Mobility Service functionality to include interoperability with a wireless modem.
"The FCC's proposed rulemaking makes it pretty clear; if you want to offer Internet telephone service, you need to make sure your subscribers have access to the dedicated wireline 9-1-1 network," said William Stofega, Research Manager with IDC's Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) Services Program. "For any wireless carrier considering making the move into VoIP, solutions like Intrado's are worth investigating."

"Intrado continues to extend its expertise in 9-1-1 services to support expanding new technologies," said Stephen Meer, Intrado co-founder and chief technology officer. "By providing 9-1-1 solutions for communication technologies like wireless broadband VoIP, we are helping subscribers to fully utilize all the capabilities of these new services."
