Integrated Photonics Technology Advises on Company Business Units

CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 31, 2003--Integrated Photonics Technology, (IPITEK) is a privately held, advanced technology corporation headquartered in Carlsbad, Calif. IPITEK recently sold a small business unit, involved in the development of secure optical data link technology, from its Aerospace and Defense Business Division. This sale did not include the entire division or any other operating division of the company.
IPITEK continues to own and operate the Aerospace and Defense Business Division, a worldwide leader in optical systems widely used for defense and aerospace applications. IPITEK develops and manufactures systems and supporting component technologies for a variety of classified and unclassified customers, including every branch of the U.S. military, certain U.S. government agencies, and all the major prime contractors to the Department of Defense (DoD).
IPITEK also retains all other operating divisions of the company including IPITEK Network Systems, a leading manufacturer of Broadband Optical Communications Systems for analog and digital transmission in cable, closed circuit and security/surveillance operations. IPITEK optical broadband products carry entertainment, data and telephony services to millions of people each day. IPITEK's unique HBR-2500 Digital Transport with assignable bit rate and the new HBR-110 Digital Transport are typical of products which are helping the cable and broadcast industry to integrate HDTV programming into cable systems. IPITEK's new Dual Gigabit Ethernet and DWDM transports enable cable systems to expand Video on Demand services.
