Software Technologies Group and Intec Automation Announces Partnership to Deliver ZigBee and Wireless Networking Product Solutions

Software Technologies Group, Inc. and Intec Automation, Inc. today announced a partnership that will enable delivery of complete 802.15.4 and ZigBee networking solutions for wireless product developers on Intec hardware platforms.

The agreement calls for Software Technologies Group (STG) to port its 802.15.4 MAC software and ZigBee protocol stack to Intec designed hardware. Intec will act as a reseller and distributor of the software. STG will also use Intec hardware featuring Freescale Coldfire processors as a reference platform for advanced ZigBee products such as network gateways and bridges.

"Intec's hardware is the ideal platform for sophisticated ZigBee devices such as gateways and bridges as well as higher end embedded applications requiring 802.15.4 and ZigBee connectivity; together with STG's software, we can provide complete solutions for our mutual customers."

The STG MAC software can be used by itself to create an 802.15.4-based product, or in conjunction with STG's ZigBee protocol stack software. The available ZigBee protocol stack will be fully compliant with the ZigBee standard published by the ZigBee Alliance, an association of companies working together to enable reliable, cost-effective, low-power, wirelessly networked, monitoring and control products based on an open global standard.

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed. Hardware products are available now from Intec. 802.15.4 and ZigBee software to be available first quarter 2006. Pricing is to be determined.
