MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Moscow's Domodedovo international airport will begin making direct flights to the United States in 2006, airport director Sergei Rudakov told journalists at the airport on Wednesday.
Rudakov said that U.S. authorities would inspect the airport in October to make sure its facilities are in compliance with U.S. standards for airports that make direct flights from abroad.
Direct flights from Moscow to New York City will begin next year, he said. "We're preparing flight companies that work here for setting up these flights," Rudakov said.
Transaero currently makes regular flights to Montreal from Domodedovo.
