United Airlines Says 'Mele Kalikimaka' With a Hawaiian Fare Sale for the Holidays

CHICAGO, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- United Airlines has launched its annual "Mele Kalikimaka" fare sale -- which means Merry Christmas in Hawaiian -- for 2005/2006 yuletide travel from Hawaii to the mainland United States.

Flights included in the sale originate from the Big Island (Hawaii), Kauai, Maui and Oahu (Honolulu). United's nonstop service from Honolulu or Maui/Kona to Chicago, in addition to the daily flights to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Denver, makes it even easier to get to the mainland.

Sample each-way fares based on required roundtrip purchase include: Honolulu Los Angeles or Las Vegas $199 Honolulu Chicago $259 Honolulu New York City* $279 Maui Seattle or Los Angeles $219 Maui San Francisco $209 Kauai San Francisco $216 Honolulu Boston* $239 Honolulu Washington, D.C. $279 Maui Pittsburgh $303 Kona Philadelphia $303 Kauai Baltimore $303

Tickets must be purchased at least seven days in advance of travel and require a three-day minimum stay. Fares must originate from Hawaii between Dec. 1 and Dec. 25, 2005. Return travel to Hawaii must take place between Dec. 29, 2005 and Jan. 8, 2006. Book a paid, qualifying flight through united.com to earn 1,000 bonus miles. FARE FACTS: Fares above are each way based on required roundtrip purchase on united.com for United Economy(R) travel. Tickets purchased through United reservation offices are $5-per-ticket higher and tickets purchased at airport ticket counters are $10-per-ticket higher. Fares purchased through other distribution channels may also be higher. When purchasing from United, always go to united.com to find United's lowest fares. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights/dates. Purchase Requirements: Tickets must be purchased at least 7 days in advance and ticketed within 24 hours of making reservations. Sale fares apply to U.S. point-of-sale only. Reservations and ticket purchases on united.com must be completed simultaneously. Travel Days/Dates: Fares above are valid for travel from Hawaii between 12/1/05 and 12/25/05 and to Hawaii between 12/29/05 and 1/8/06. Fares for other days of the week are higher. Blackout Dates: None. Min./Max. Stay: A 3-night minimum stay is required and the maximum stay is 60 days. Additional Taxes/Fees: Fares do not include a $3.20 per flight segment tax. A flight segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. No changes may be made after ticketed departure date for any portion of the ticket. Changes made on or before departure are subject to fare rules and a service charge of $100. If a reservation is not cancelled before the ticketed departure date, the ticket has no value.
