ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Oracle today announced the Applications Integration Initiative, a new program designed to help Certified and Certified Advantage Partners in the Oracle PartnerNetwork deliver industry solutions with validated integration to Oracle application products. Offering unprecedented access to Oracle's rapidly growing customer base, the initiative can help Oracle partners penetrate new markets and uncover new sales opportunities.

The Oracle Application Integration Initiative, an evolution of Oracle's prior offering combined with PeopleSoft's software certification program, includes Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and JD Edwards World product families, and is available to Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Value Added Resellers (VARs) that want to integrate their solutions with Oracle applications. Each integration is validated by Oracle, to ensure the integration is functionally and technically sound, operates as designed, performs as required, is well-documented and provides value to end customers. Partners with validated solutions can utilize Oracle branding, marketing and sales assistance.

In addition to joint sales and marketing opportunities, that include the use of a new "Integrated with Oracle" logo, Oracle partners also can benefit from a lower cost of integration, development and maintenance. Oracle will deliver expert guidance for design, development and upgrades around integration procedures, as well as extensive training in integration tools and techniques. Additionally partners taking part in this initiative will have access to dedicated integration assistance teams that work with over 100 product specific integration guides and an array of online and classroom workshops.

"We recognize that integration is a key pain point for customers and CIO's today. The need for complete business solutions, instead of standalone software products, has driven us to make significant investments toward alleviating the integration headache for our partners and their customers," said Oracle Vice President of Worldwide Alliances and Channels, Doug Kennedy. "We've evolved an older initiative with additional investments in technical and training resources and will continue to roll out new programs and initiatives that make integration with our applications easier."

Infosys Technologies , a leading global provider of consulting and IT services is a Certified Advantage Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork. Commenting on the partnership, Kris Gopalakrishnan, COO and Deputy Managing Director, Infosys Technologies Ltd said, "Infosys has a strong focus on developing industry-specific solutions to enable customers to maximize value from their IT investments. Our partnership on Oracle 10g BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) will offer joint solutions to standardize enterprise applications integration needs of the customers."

"We have been able to use BPEL's capabilities in the direction of integrate, Infosys' universal banking solution, Finacle with Oracle E-Business Suite Financials to enable our financial services customers to streamline business processes and improve operational efficiencies," he added.

Customers Benefit from Complete, Standards-based Solutions

Through this initiative, integrations efforts undertaken by Oracle partners will be validated to help ensure standards compliance and standard integration methodology such as BPEL, Web Services, XML/EDI and other published and approved application program interfaces (APIs), a process that results in a superior ownership experience for customers throughout the lifecycle -- from implementation to upgrades and support. This is designed to decrease a customer's total cost of ownership. The Applications Integration Initiative gives customers the ability to focus on business solutions rather than on the integration of products.

"Our integration has been very productive and educational, and our product offerings have strengthened because of recommendations from the integration team. We recommend this initiative to all partners wishing to make third party solutions work with Oracle E-Business Suite, and to those serious about increasing revenue and gaining a competitive advantage," said Consit Development Managing Director, Morten Godsk.

"The value of 170 MarkView's tight integration and validation with both the Oracle E-Business Suite and PeopleSoft Enterprise applications enables our customers to optimize all of their financial transactions across the enterprise," said Dave Ellenberger, president and CEO of 170 Systems. "The Oracle Application Integration Initiative further strengthens our longstanding partnership, allowing customers to focus on their business initiatives of streamlining processes, reducing costs and strengthening internal controls; knowing that the solutions they deploy will work seamlessly together."

"As experts in business process integration, we're delighted that Oracle is evolving and extending its industry-leading integration program for applications," commented Marc Hebert, EVP of Sierra Atlantic. "Sierra Atlantic has played a key role in building integrations to Oracle applications for ten years, and recognizes the value of integration and validation."
