Four Stations Present Programs at A White Linen Affair Party

Posted on: Monday, 19 September 2005, 18:00 CDT

Guests donned white attire and watched four Baton Rouge TV stations roll out their fall lineups recently at White Oak Plantation.

A White Linen Affair was an opportunity for WVLA, Channel 33; WGMB, Channel 44; WBRL, Channel 21; and KZUP, Channel 19, to give advertisers and the media a sneak peek at what's in store this season. The celebration also included dinner and dancing to the sounds of The Neighborhood Stars.

A fast-paced, big-screen presentation revealed clips of new and returning programs. Here are a few highlights:

E-Ring: NBC (affiliate WVLA) is bringing in some big acting guns for this one - Dennis Hopper and Benjamin Bratt. It's set in the Pentagon, is full of suspense, and looks promising for Wednesday nights.

Sex and the City: WVLA is picking up the syndicated series about four attractive singles looking for love in the Big Apple. It will air at 10 p.m. Monday-Friday, and at 5 p.m. Sunday.

24: Fox is of course where the prime time version of this Kiefer Sutherland-starring series lives, but now's it's in syndication as well, and WVLA will run it, starting with the first season, at 10 p.m. Sundays. Two season's worth, 48 episodes, will air consecutively.

LSU Baseball: KZUP will again be the place to tune for all regular season games on up to the subregionals. KZUP will also be in the running to air the regionals as well.

Just Legal: Here's a familiar face from the '80s. Don Johnson, sans white jacket, plays a down-on-his-luck lawyer who hires a young gun just out of law school who may be just what he needs to turn his practice around. This one's on the WB (WBRL) on Monday nights.

The Simpsons: The longtime animated series moved to WBRL, as of Sept. 12 and is airing at 6:30 weekdays. This run started with the first episode, first season.

Reunion: It's an interesting premise with lots of potential. The Fox drama follows six friends over the course of 20 years, starting with their high school graduation in 1986. Each episode represents one year in their lives. (WGMB)

Alias: WGMB has also picked up this ABC drama in syndication. Alias will air at 9 p.m. Saturdays, with a repeat of the same episode at 9 p.m. Sundays.

WVLA is found on cable Channel 3; WGMB, cable Channel 6; WBRL, cable Channel 10; and KZUP, cable Channel 13.
