Sylantro Systems Corp. today announced that mpower broadband has chosen the Sylantro applications feature server as the core of its new wholesale Voice over IP (VoIP) services offering, which will allow service providers throughout Canada and the United States to quickly and efficiently deploy hosted services such as IP Centrex and consumer broadband voice. The Sylantro platform has been deployed by mpower to deliver an end-to-end, differentiated solution for incumbent and next-generation carriers.
mpower broadband is a private corporation associated with The Wesbell Group of Companies, Inc., a Canadian firm with a long history of providing end-to-end engineering, furnish and install (EF&I) services for Central Offices and other telecommunications deployments, among many other services. The new mpower broadband wholesale VoIP offering will allow service providers to bundle and package differentiated and branded services in a low-risk, turnkey model. mpower broadband has secured agreements that will enable resellers of the service to launch their Sylantro-based services in Q4 2005.
"We designed our wholesale offering to allow our service-provider customers to get to market quickly, with a low risk, 'pay-as-you-play' model with fully customizable portals, billing and other service elements" said Angelo Libertucci, executive vice president of mpower broadband. "The Sylantro platform provides a highly flexible solution that meets the stringent requirements of world-class carriers, while allowing full customization and differentiation of service offerings to compete effectively in the VoIP marketplace."
mpower will offer its service-provider customers a comprehensive set of hosted VoIP services and applications for business and consumer customers, including portal customization, network connectivity and management, customer provisioning, automated billing, and more. The Sylantro applications feature server provides unique, differentiating capabilities such as bilingual portals, integrated unified messaging and billing, and an open standards-based model that allows integration of third-party applications.
"Through the exclusive wholesale capabilities of our applications feature server, mpower broadband's customers can get to market quickly with the assurance of a scalable, reliable and IMS-compliant platform as the foundation," said David Illing, senior vice president of marketing and operations for Sylantro Systems. "The market for VoIP services is growing exponentially, and through Sylantro and mpower broadband, service providers now have an attractive new option to deliver high-value, high-margin hosted communications services."
