Design Engineers Share Best Practices, CAD Insider Tips Through Kubotek User Community Events

Posted on: Tuesday, 20 September 2005, 09:00 CDT

MARLBORO, Mass., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Kubotek USA, a leader in design engineering and CAD interoperability solutions and the developer of KeyCreator(R) (formerly CADKEY), is responding to the needs of its design engineer customers through a series of in-person and online events that will showcase design engineering best practices, reveal insider secrets and offer peer-to-peer 'tips and tricks' for CAD projects. The first event, an inaugural meeting of the New England KeyCreator Users Group, will take place on September 22, 2005.

Kubotek's design engineering community events will serve the needs of design engineers, managers, contractors and CAD consultants working in product design and manufacturing. Companies in mold making, 'job shops,' large manufacturers -- essentially, every part of the supply chain touched by CAD -- and vertical industries will be represented in the events.

"Studies show peers provide the most valuable information," said Robert Bean, COO, Kubotek USA. "With the increasing competition in manufacturing and the pressures to complete designs, molds and products faster, design engineers are eager for any edge they can get. By facilitating these meetings and discussions, Kubotek hopes to help design engineers, CAD users and manufacturers better compete in today's global manufacturing market."

As part of its design engineering community, Kubotek offers two online forums, one focused on KeyCreator and CAD interoperability (http://www.kubotekusa.com/support/webforum/) and one for long-time CADKEY users (http://cadkeyforum.kubotekusa.com/forum/).

The first meeting is co-sponsored by Edge Data and will be held 6:30pm - 8:30pm, September 22, 2005 at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Leominster, MA.

Design engineers and CAD users and VARs in other regions interested in participating or being involved with additional events can contact usersgroup@kubotekusa.com.

Kubotek KeyCreator builds on the heritage of CADKEY, the first true 3D MCAD software for the desktop. KeyCreator combines both the latest in geometry-based design and modeling technology, and a legacy of success in helping customers in the design of tooling, complex machinery, fixtures, molds and dies in a multitude of product development industries including automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, sports equipment, medical device, and many more.

The KeyCreator creation engineering product line includes multidimensional design and drafting, NC programming and reverse engineering capabilities. The rapidly expanding product line features the company's unique geometry-based foundation with Direct Feature Editing(TM) and sophisticated deformation techniques.
