Adobe, Microsoft and Opera to Keynote SDForum's Mobile Software Value Chain Conference 2005

Posted on: Thursday, 22 September 2005, 12:00 CDT

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- SDForum, the leading not-for-profit organization connecting and educating Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and technologists, announced today the All Star keynote lineup for its Mobile Software Value Chain Conference. The Mobile Software Value Chain Conference is set to take place on Monday, September 26, at Moscone West, in San Francisco, from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and will focus in on providing a global perspective on the opportunities that are emerging within the mobile software industry and the transformation of the U.S., European and Asian mobile marketplaces.

With investments in mobile technology continuing to grow at a rapid pace within Silicon Valley, SDForum's global association with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, leading industry experts, thought leaders and the largest software vendors gives attendees an unparallel perspective of the mobile software value-chain. Known for providing insight and best business practices, SDForum has the resources and know-how to connect the technology community.

The All Star keynote lineup includes thought leaders and technologists who will share their first-hand experiences:

-- Tom Malloy, Senior Vice President and Chief Software Architect, Adobe Systems Incorporated -- John Pollard, Senior Director, Applications and Services, Mobile Devices, Microsoft -- Tim Burns, Executive Vice President, Opera

Speakers will also include key industry analysts Rajeev Chand from Rutberg & Company, Will Hodgman of m:metrics and Jessica Sandin from Informa along with industry experts from eBay, WiderThan, Monta Vista, Verisign, Orange, Navio, mBlox, IBM, gNumber, Peppercoin and BA Venture Partners.

As emerging companies drive changes in the industry, leaders from around the globe need to take notice and address the realities of existing and future business models. This interactive one-day forum will provide attendees with the knowledge of where opportunities exist as well as how to become an active participant in this evolving industry.

"Compelling content and great interactive applications will drive the future growth of the mobile industry," said Tom Malloy, Senior Vice President and Chief Software Architect of Adobe. "SDForum's Mobile Software Value Chain Conference is taking on an important topic at a key time when the needs of users and the capabilities of mobile networks and devices are starting to meet. Our industry is just beginning to explore the massive potential for innovation ahead."

Wireless industry investment in the US has substantially grown over the past few months illustrating the increasing importance of mobile technologies. While the US is behind in leveraging technology, they are in the forefront of developing new technologies and markets -- which is critical as markets, such as Asia, become saturated.

"SDForum has seen three times the number of early stage companies focusing on the mobile space in the last six months verses all of 2004," said Laura Merling, Executive Director of SDForum. "As the mobile value chain becomes much more complex than it was in the past, SDForum's Mobile Software Value Chain Conference seeks to make the industry take note of new players and emerging companies as they begin to shape and drive the mobile marketplace."

Registration for the conference includes a complimentary pass to the CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2005 Exhibit Hall and keynotes also located at Moscone West, in San Francisco, from September 27 - 29, 2005. The conference fee is $199 for SDForum members and $299 for non-members. For more information or to register for this conference, please visit http://www.sdforum.org/CTIA2005 .
