Cypress Care Names Chuck Cavaness As Vice President of Product Development & Engineering

Cypress Care, a pioneer in workers' compensation pharmacy benefits management, announces Chuck Cavaness as Vice President of Product Development & Engineering. Cavaness will be responsible for overall direction and management for Cypress Care internal and external technology platforms and solutions.

Chuck Cavaness is a software technologist and strategist with more than 10 years of technical management, software engineering and development experience. Chuck has spent time in the healthcare, banking and B2B/B2C sectors and has spent the past several years building large enterprise J2EE systems for the financial industry.

Prior to joining Cypress Care, Chuck was the Chief Technologist for S1 Inc., where he directed strategy, service and product delivery for its suite of financial applications. During his tenure, he also led development and performance teams building internet banking applications. Prior to joining S1, Chuck held positions as Chief Architect at NetVendor, Senior Software Architect at John Harland and Senior Developer at McKesson.

Chuck is a published author of five books on popular technologies, including books on Java, J2EE and many open source technologies like Apache Struts. He has also written for magazines such as JavaWorld, O'Reilly, OnJava and InformIt.com and has taught courses on programming and software development at Georgia Institute of Technology.
