Redpoint Controls Sells Wares To Minnesota Business

FAIRMONT – Redpoint Controls Inc. recently sold its proprietary Redi Technology to Minnesota-based MAMAC Systems Inc., the INNOVA Commercialization Group of the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation announced.

INNOVA also announced that it has provided seed stage capital to Fairmont-based Integrated Software Metrics Inc.

Red-i is an embedded Ethernet-based, Web-enabling product for industrial applications. The purchaser is a global industrial and environmental control system and sensor company.

“The Red-i technology offers MAMAC a great competitive advantage by allowing its products to communicate over standard Internet technology,” said Redpoint CEO Chris Garman.

As part of the exclusive arrangement, MAMAC Systems will introduce the Red-i technology into its product line.

The company now employs one of the former lead developers of the technology in Morgantown.

Redpoint Controls is one of the first companies INNOVA funded.

“This deal is the realization of the potential we saw in Redpoint Controls and its founders from the start,” said INNOVA Director Greg Clutter. “From its inception, that has been the goal of INNOVA: to assist West Virginia companies in commercializing their products.”

The investment in Integrated Software Metrics will be used to market, commercialize and grow ISM’s Predictive product suite, according to an INNOVA release.

Predictive products analyze software code and identify error- prone code, the release said. Using Predictive, defect-prone software can be identified early in the software development cycle, allowing managers, developers or test professionals to focus their efforts and take action, thus reducing overall risk.
