8e6 Technologies Teams With Tandberg Data to Resell Network Attached Storage Solutions
Posted on: Tuesday, 27 September 2005, 09:00 CDT
8e6 Technologies, a leading supplier of Internet Content Filtering, Monitoring and Reporting Appliances, today announced they are reselling two of Tandberg Data Corporation's Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions. These NAS units, the InteliNAS 4100 and the InteliNAS 4160, can be connected to the 8e6 Enterprise Reporter to enhance its ability to retain years of Internet usage history.
Tandberg Data's InteliNAS products meet the regulatory data retention demands such as HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley with powerful performance, advanced disaster recovery strategies and unparalleled data availability. Both the 4100 and the 4160 feature Tandberg Data's patented RAIDn technology, which delivers incomparable availability plus support for standard RAID levels. The products also include benefits such as Snapshot technology that gives "point in time" images of critical files on the same system; an optional SCSI port to connect to a Tandberg StorageLoader or any other tape device for backup; five different levels of user selected data availability; feature rich with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, hot swappable frontloading SATA hard drives, a 300 watt power supply; and a three year parts and labor warranty.
The 8e6 Enterprise Reporter (ER) (http://www.8e6.com/products/er3/index.htm) is the only stand-alone appliance that reports on Internet usage without compromising filtering speed/performance or any other server/network functions. Built on a dedicated MySQL server database that works in conjunction with the 8e6 R3000 Internet Filter, a content filtering and monitoring appliance (http://www.8e6.com/products/R3000/index.htm), the ER processes and generates detailed or summarized reports in a fraction of the time of competitive products, making it the fastest and most flexible reporting solution.
8e6 offers products that increase productivity and security while protecting vital network resources. The company develops customized Internet filtering, Internet monitoring and reporting network applications for businesses, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), government and the education market. 8e6 sells Tandberg Data's NAS solutions to complement their own Internet filtering, Internet monitoring and reporting technologies.
"Tandberg Data's NAS solutions provide the quality and storage flexibility that will prove very valuable and beneficial to many of our clients," said Paul Myer, President of 8e6 Technologies. "The InteliNAS products are very high quality and affordable, and coupled with the 8e6 Enterprise Reporter, they will provide excellent results to many of our clients."
"Having 8e6 integrate their 8e6 Enterprise Reporter with our InteliNAS is an extremely positive step for their customers and for us," said David Licosati, Vice-President of Business Development, Tandberg Data. "We believe that packaged solutions show the significant benefit we bring to businesses who value productivity improvements through technological solutions. This combination between 8e6 and Tandberg Data provides the simplicity, performance, data availability and economical solution required in today's businesses."
