Posted on: Monday, 3 October 2005, 09:00 CDT
From its annual Net@Work Partner Forum, the MOCA Division of Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW), a leading Sun Microsystems, Inc. channel development provider, today announced new advancements to the Sun Service Center within its industry recognized VORTEX business management tool.
The Service Center management tool on VORTEX delivers unique web-based functionality exclusively to Arrow's Sun Partners. It is designed to provide them with the necessary functionality to successfully manage and drive better efficiencies for their growing Sun Service businesses. The latest Service Center release includes a web-based change and cancellation tool, contract opportunity finder, Sun contact PDF files and a robust Service linkage tool.
Exclusive to Arrow Sun partners, complete new VORTEX functionalities include:
-- Change and Cancellation Tool: Resellers can now submit, track and manage online all change requests of their service contracts on a real-time basis.
-- Contract Opportunity Finder and Attach Rate Tool: The Service Center now displays the service attach rate at a serial number level to customers on the front page of the Service Center. In addition, the Contract Opportunity Finder Tool helps partners identify serial numbers that do not have a service contract assigned to them for potential new business opportunities.
-- Access to PDF Contracts: This tool allows partners easy access to the end-user SUN Service Contracts in PDF format.
-- Service Data Linkage: Service users can now access immediate hyperlinks to related transaction items in the Service Center.
-- Service Data Base Enhancement: Customers can now export the contact and contract information from the service database.
-- Additional Security and user privilege: Managers can now determine which contacts within their organization should have a "Read Only" privilege as opposed to the current "Read and Export Data" default for each area of the VORTEX tool (Marketing, Software and Service).
"The MOCA Division continues to make essential investments into the Service Center on VORTEX and this tool has become a critical asset to our partners," stated Bill Page, executive vice president, MOCA Division. "These latest VORTEX enhancements will deliver an advanced level of support to help our partners achieve success with their ongoing services business demands."
