Posted on: Monday, 3 October 2005, 09:00 CDT
UC4 Software, the global technology leader in enterprise job scheduling, today announced the availability of UC4:global 05, a new release enhancing the functionality of its innovative software for enterprise-wide batch processing and job scheduling.
In identifying the need for a smooth transition from mainframe schedulers to a platform and application-independent job scheduling tool, UC4:global 05 provides seamless migration through external job plan dependencies, version management for z/OS, and other tools.
For companies operating in regulated industries, UC4:global 05 provides a full audit trail and reporting to ease the burden of complying with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and other regulations. UC4:global 05 allows companies to monitor all activities, including started tasks, modifications, cancellations, etc., and export the data to Microsoft Excel or database programs for simple reporting.
"Our customers are faced with numerous challenges, ranging from migrating from a legacy mainframe scheduler to their need to be SOX compliant," said Mark Loehr, COO for UC4 Software. "UC4:global 05 addresses these challenges and provides a reliable and efficient product for managing processes and integration."
In addition, UC4:global 05, which was announced at the fourth annual UC4 Technical Conference in San Diego this week, includes:
-- UC4.Executor for JMX, an agent which monitors and actively controls Java environments, creating seamless enterprise integration;
-- Further improvements of the intuitive user interface for unmatched usability;
-- Comprehensive functionality for managing SAP solutions; and
-- Superior process planning capabilities with maximum flexibility, including dynamic calendars and state-of-the-art critical path analysis.
"A product of UC4's dedication to the job scheduling industry, UC4:global 05 will provide customers with a simple, easy-to-use tool for managing complex IT environments," Loehr said.
