Amtrak Acela Train Hits Car at Connecticut Crossing

WATERFORD, Conn. - An Amtrak Acela train collided today with a car at a crossing in eastern Connecticut. The accident happened shortly before 8 a.m
. on the southbound tracks. Video taken from a television helicopter shows the engine of the train resting on wreckage of a white car. A medical helicopter has been sent to the scene. There were no immediate reports of injuries. The Acela is Amtrak's high-speed express train, and operates between Boston and Washington.Source: Patriot Ledger, The; Quincy, Mass.
