Network Engines Announces Support for Microsoft's Windows Server System Midsize Business Promotion; Makes Special Offers to Both Partners and End Users

Posted on: Tuesday, 11 October 2005, 09:00 CDT

Network Engines, Inc. (NASDAQ:NENG), a leading OEM appliance partner for Microsoft security solutions, today announced support of the Windows Server System Midsize Business Promotion, with both a special offer to Network Engines' ENGAGE channel partners who sell Network Engines NS Series Security Appliances powered by Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 as well as a special offer to end-users who purchase the NS6400 in conjunction with the promotion.

From now through December 31, 2005, any partner that sells three NS6300 or NS6400 units in conjunction with Microsoft's Windows Server System Midsize Business Promotion will receive four full days of ISA Server certification training. These training days can either be used by partner companies or their customers. In addition, end-user customers who purchase an NS6400 Security Appliance in conjunction with the promotion will receive a five hundred dollar rebate directly from Network Engines.

The NS Series of Security appliances offers all the features of Microsoft ISA Server 2004 -- application layer firewall, VPN, and web caching -- designed to provide protection for critical Microsoft applications like Exchange Server, Internet Information Services, SQL Server and SharePoint Portal Server.

"We're excited to see partners like Network Engines offering new opportunities for our mutual customers and the channel," said Margo Day, vice president of U.S. Partner Group at Microsoft. "Midmarket customers need solutions that are easy to use, with low total cost of ownership and seamless integration. We believe the combination of Network Engines security appliances and the Windows Server System Midsize Business Promotion provide a winning formula to ensure midmarket customers receive the right solution for their business."

"Protecting critical business applications like email, web, and databases is a considerable concern for organizations. It is essential they put in place needed security and protection assets", said Charles Kolodgy, research director at IDC. "Partnerships that provide a best practice solution are certainly a benefit for today's business."

"Microsoft's new server promotion contains a combination of Windows Server, Exchange Server and Microsoft Operations Manager Workgroup Edition optimized for midsize companies with 50-250 desktop PCs. We see many opportunities to secure these servers with Network Engines security appliances," said Larry Shaible, Director of Professional Services at En Pointe Technologies, a Gold Certified Microsoft services partner. "The product sets are very synergistic. And for companies that wish to have a hardened version of ISA Server 2004 with one-touch updates and patch management, as well as other automated management features, the NS Series is the best choice."
