REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- SEVEN is collaborating with Nokia to deliver mobile email on Nokia Eseries devices for distribution through leading mobile operators worldwide. Operator-branded mobile email services, powered by SEVEN, will tightly integrate with Nokia's newly announced Symbian OS-based Nokia Series 60 3rd edition business-optimized devices. SEVEN for Nokia Eseries devices will be available to operators in the first quarter of 2006 and will provide seamless mobile access to business and consumer email and information.
SEVEN and Nokia together enable mobile operators to provide enterprise and individual subscribers both simple and secure access to corporate and personal email accounts across a variety of Nokia devices. In Europe, the two companies have previously collaborated to provide the SEVEN solution on the Nokia 9500 Communicator, the Nokia 9300 enterprise smartphone, and the Nokia 7710 multimedia smartphone.
"Nokia is working closely with SEVEN to meet the needs of mobile operators and companies across the globe. We want to knock down the barriers to mobilizing all of corporate email and SEVEN's affordable and easy-to-use mobile email services and broad mobile operator relationships make the company an important partner in our efforts to accomplish this goal," said Scott Cooper, vice president, mobility solutions at Nokia's Enterprise Solutions business group.
"Today's launch of the Eseries, Nokia's latest breakthrough expansion of their growing email-capable device portfolio, paves the way for wider usage of mobile email," said Kent Thexton, SEVEN president and CEO. "Broader device choice is essential to expanding mobile email adoption and providing businesses with more flexibility in keeping their workforce connected. By working with Nokia and 76 mobile operators worldwide, SEVEN is making mobile email simple and accessible."
