Forum Systems Joins Microsoft, Industry Leaders in SecureIT Alliance; First XML Web Services Security Company to Join Community of Industry Leaders to Improve Integration of Enterprise Security Solutions
Posted on: Friday, 14 October 2005, 18:00 CDT
Forum Systems, the leader in Web services security for threat protection and trust management, announced today it has become a charter member of the SecureIT Alliance. The SecureIT Alliance is an effort led by Microsoft Corp. to bring greater integration to enterprise security products, and to increase collaboration between its members for customer-driven and innovative security solutions.
The Alliance was made public last week at http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/features/2005/oct05/ 10-06SecureITAlliance.mspx. (Due to its length, this URL may need to be copied/pasted into your Internet browser's address field. Remove the extra space if one exists.) Forum Systems is the first XML Web services security solutions vendor chosen to support this important initiative and brings to the alliance expertise in Service Oriented Architecture's (SOA) security that covers vulnerability management, testing systems, firewall, gateways, identity and policy management.
"Microsoft is looking forward to working closely with Forum Systems in advancing the SecureIT Alliance and efficiently integrating XML Web services security into the Microsoft platform to offer customers comprehensive security solutions," said Bruce Burns, senior director at Microsoft Corporation. "Forum Systems' unique life cycle approach to protecting next generation service oriented architectures and data-level networks will add value to this initiative."
Forum XWall(TM) is the first and only Web Services Firewall that extends the Microsoft ISA Server 2004 to protect enterprises against Web services attacks and XML-related threats. This product integration improves security and interoperability for other protocols within application-layer inspection.
"By joining the SecureIT Alliance, Forum Systems strengthens its existing partnership with Microsoft and other leading industry security vendors with the goal of effectively addressing ever changing enterprise security demands," said Wes Swenson, CEO and president of Forum Systems.
Online Community
The SecureIT Alliance is developing a community site which will launch later this year (the URL will be http://www.secureitalliance.org) and provide Alliance members with greater visibility into the various Microsoft developer programs, such as betas, software development kits, early adopter programs and development labs. The site will afford Alliance members both a portal and a community of peers for sharing the information and best practices needed to build security solutions. The site will also have a public-facing side to help customers address their security needs by accessing security-related information, including case studies, videos, presentations, white papers, best practices and product information provided by Alliance members.
