Oct. 14--Verizon Communications is looking for more fiber-network field technicians.
The telecommunications company will hold an open house for job applicants 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 22 at its offices at 8001 W. Jefferson Blvd. It has full-time openings for terms of up to 36 months.
The field technicians will install and repair a fiber network the company is building at terminal facilities and customer locations. Candidates must pass company tests to qualify, and the job requires a driver's license, safe driving record and the ability to work scheduled hours. Wages for the positions start at $14.09 an hour and go up to $24.10, depending on experience. Verizon offers benefits including paid training, tuition assistance, and company-paid medical, dental and life insurance.
