DALLAS, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The high-SPF sunscreen is sure to be applied liberally at the first Dallas/Ft. Worth-area "Tee It Up with AT&T" National Charity Golf Tournament to support the American Cancer Society Relay For Life program. This is the first year for the tournament, scheduled Monday, October 24, at Tour 18 Golf Course in Flower Mound. AT&T is hosting similar events in 20 other cities across the U.S. and Canada.
AT&T's overall goal is to raise $1 million through the national tournament and corporate team participation in Relay For Life events across the country.
"AT&T has been a long-time supporter of our Relay For Life program and a key corporate ally in our continuing fight against cancer," said Maria Clark, executive director of the American Cancer Society, Dallas Metro Market. "We're delighted that Dallas is part of AT&T's national golf tournament and hope our local business community can get involved to help support cancer research."
This will mark the sixth consecutive year of AT&T participation in the Relay for Life. In 2004, AT&T was the largest corporate sponsor of the Relay, raising more money than any other company.
"Beyond our work in support of Relay For Life, we could build upon the American Cancer Society's success by incorporating AT&T's longtime association with golf," said Linda Rogers, AT&T signature client vice president in Dallas. "This gives many more people than ever an opportunity to join in this program, and also play at some of the best courses in the United States, such as Tour 18."
In addition to sponsors already signed up for the tournament through national Tour Level packages, local Dallas Event Level sponsors are invited to compete. Individual players are also welcome and will be assigned to foursomes. For more information or to register, call Denise Malone of AT&T at 972-778-4927, or visit the "Tee It Up with AT&T" website: http://teamacs.acsevents.org/ATT.
