SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Guidance Corporation today unveiled a new version of its construction management software suite - eCMS(R) 3.5.0. With 30 applications that already make up this browser-based suite, this latest version provides a collection of new features and functions including a completely remodeled windows Graphical User Interface utilizing the latest JavaServer(TM) Faces technology, a new SQL Server database structure, new preference options, and an enhanced productivity toolset.

"Our focus is to help construction companies and contractors where they need it most - streamlining operations and increasing productivity and profitability," said Roger Kirk, President/CEO. "This new version delivers features that construction companies need to be successful - integrated features, scalability, and improved communication. eCMS 3.5.0 helps construction companies manage jobs and business processes more efficiently."

A host of new preference options includes a new model for advanced security control and a standardized SQL database structure that provides users with improved methods for accessing and retrieving data. With these preference options, users now have the ability to:

-- Soft Label - Change the name of any data field to match their own defined labels. -- Navigational Tab Control - Customize the tabbing order for faster screen navigation. -- Default Values - Define which screen data fields are to be assigned pre-defined default value(s) and override those values when necessary. -- Disallow Entry Control - Restrict entry for any particular field being displayed. -- Hide Fields - Hide screen data fields that do not apply to their company's entry requirements. -- Mandatory Entry Control - Pre-define screen data elements that require entry. -- Numeric Only - Define data entry fields that require numeric entry only.

The enhanced productivity toolset comes bundled with an array of improved functions, enhancing enterprise-wide visibility, communication and control over critical day-to-day operations, including:

-- Document Imaging - Electronically scans and stores documents for instant access and retrieval - anytime, anywhere. Single or multiple image files can be assigned to an accounting module or stored as an independent image file. -- Electronic Workflow - This powerful application electronically routes documents for proper approval, based on pre-defined rules, to those who need it - from a single person to an entire department. -- Electronic Forms Management - More than thirty electronic forms are integrated including payroll and accounts payable checks, accounts receivable billing forms, equipment work orders, purchase orders, quarterly and year-end based forms such as 1099s and W-2s. No third party form suppliers are required and there are no annual maintenance fees. -- eCMS Distribution Center - Users can electronically burst and distribute by email, fax or print any report or electronic form; reports are generated as PDF documents.
