Iolo Technologies Ships New Versions of Award-Winning System Mechanic 6 and System Mechanic 6 Professional

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- iolo technologies, LLC, today announced the release of new versions of its award-winning PC utility software -- System Mechanic(R) version 6 and System Mechanic version 6 Professional. The System Mechanic tool arsenal cleans, optimizes, fixes, protects, and maintains PCs to run faster, safer and error-free. The software shipped to retail stores nationwide October 3, 2005.

The powerful wizards now have quick and basic operation modes designed for first time users, deep or comprehensive operation modes for more user control, and advanced modes for expert user configuration and control.

Version 6 enhancements include a new Security Optimizer Wizard that finds dangerous Windows security flaws and automatically repairs them. The Startup Optimizer decreases boot-time finds and eliminates dangerous and unnecessary programs, increasing productivity and security. The new Advanced Startup Manager reviews the more than 20 locations where programs hide to automatically startup with Windows. Integrated with Startup Guard(TM) technology, it permanently blocks dangerous and unnecessary programs from starting again. The improved Spython(TM) integrates new proactive "always on" protection from dangerous spyware, malware, adware, and unauthorized surveillance software.

The already high-speed disk defragmentation tool defragments hard drives up to 200 percent faster than previous System Mechanic versions and up to 10 times faster than the Windows defragmenter. Enhanced Registry optimization technology finds and fixes even more Registry problems that can cripple systems. The new Drive Medic(TM) finds and fixes hard drive problems before they can cause data loss or system failure. Using proprietary techniques, the new PC Accelerator Wizard increases system responsiveness, decreases boot times, and speed Internet and download rates by up to 300 percent.

System Mechanic Version 6 Professional

The System Mechanic 6 Professional version is a totally integrated suite of powerful system tools with System Mechanic 6 features, plus additional products including anti-virus and firewall software.

The world-class antivirus technology from Kaspersky Labs provides complete protection from viruses, Trojans, worms, and other disastrous enemies with daily updates.

The latest generation ultra-secure Firewall software stops hackers from destroying, stealing or corrupting data or using the PC for a denial of service attack.
