RL Corporation Secures Critical Data With Iron Mountain's Electronic Vaulting Service
Posted on: Tuesday, 18 October 2005, 09:00 CDT
BOSTON, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Iron Mountain Incorporated , the world's trusted partner for records management and data protection services, today announced RL Corporation, parent company of Lordi Consulting and Peopleflex, leading suppliers of accounting and staffing services in the Philadelphia area, has selected Iron Mountain's Server Electronic Vaulting services to protect its high-profile client information from data loss in the event of an unforeseen disaster or computer failure. Implementation is expected to prove beneficial by significantly decreasing data recovery times and reducing the drain on IT resources.
Iron Mountain's Server Electronic Vaulting service will back up Lordi Consulting and Peopleflex's data continuously, 24x7x365, providing a more scalable and efficient solution to secure client and internal data in an up- to-the-minute fashion. It will also relieve a four person IT staff from the previously manual tape backup practices involving a 16-hour backup window, thus improving efficiency office-wide.
"With Iron Mountain Server Electronic Vaulting we are reducing our risks and becoming more efficient," said John Rapchinski, CEO of RL Corporation. "This service will help us best protect our most important records including client-related data and enable our IT staff to focus on more strategic projects such as upgrading a CRM/ERP system, and implementing an enterprise wide, online document collaboration tool."
Iron Mountain's seven-year data retention period was a critical factor in RL Corporation's selection. In addition, its eight servers and numerous database applications, including accounting, staffing and scheduling programs will be backed up on a continuous, real-time basis.
"RL Corporation is a perfect example of a company that needs to have a reliable Server Electronic Vaulting service in place since the nature of its business must reflect this kind of reliability and security," said John Clancy, executive vice president of Iron Mountain's Digital business unit. "The inability to quickly recover critical data after a business disruption is a significant threat to any company's operations. Like our other financial services customers, Lordi Consulting and Peopleflex know their data is readily available when needed, but safely protected off-site, off-line, and out-of- reach."
Iron Mountain's Server Electronic Vaulting service removes the element of human error from backup and recovery operations, and reduces redundancies in multiple location backups by automatically transmitting server data over the Internet for storage in a secure, off-site Iron Mountain vault. Critical data can be backed up and immediately restored through a simple Web-based user interface. The latest version of Iron Mountain's Server Electronic Vaulting service adds further security via 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption through the entire data lifecycle.
