CHICAGO, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- United Airlines' transcontinental p.s.(SM) service was named the "Best Pick" for First Class service in North America by Global Traveler magazine.
Global Traveler, a national magazine that targets business and luxury travelers, annually conducts its Airline Cabin Survey comparing seat comfort, amenities, in-flight technology and in-flight service of airlines around the world.
"The award confirms what customers have been telling us for the last year: p.s. delivers the best first-class experience in North America. The extra space, comfort and lie-flat seats are truly unparalleled," said Dennis Cary, United's senior vice president-Marketing. "As we celebrate the one-year anniversary of p.s. this month, we are thrilled to receive this recognition of our commitment to truly making a difference in how we serve our high-end travelers."
"United's p.s. raises the bar for bicoastal business travelers who enjoy a superior level of service on a transcontinental flight," said Francis X. Gallagher, president and CEO of Global Traveler magazine. "The amenities alone are incredible, from the fine-dining experience to the onboard entertainment, coupled with the personal service -- it is an award-winning combination."
The transcontinental p.s. service offers the only lie-flat seats in first class in the United States and operates between New York's JFK International Airport and Los Angeles; and JFK and San Francisco. United's p.s. offers a three-cabin service including United First(R), United Business(R) and United Economy Plus(R) seating. Customers onboard experience elegant, gourmet dining options comparable to the dining experience on international flights, including the signature Bellini champagne cocktail and gourmet chocolates. United First and United Business customers enjoy premium onboard entertainment including hand-held DVD players and noise-reduction headsets. Customized onboard video programming is available to customers in all classes of service via United's overhead entertainment system. Every seat onboard offers access to an adapter-free, 110-volt power outlet, including a phone.
