China Airlines to Use Mxi Software for Maintenance & Engineering

Mxi Technologies announced today that its Maintenix software will be used by China Airlines (CAL) as part of an agreement between CAL and Boeing. Announced by Boeing on October 3, 2005, this agreement calls for the supply to CAL of Boeing's "Enterprise One" solution. Under a partnership agreement between Boeing and Mxi, Enterprise One uses Mxi's Maintenix product as a core component.
The Enterprise One system will provide CAL with a comprehensive, integrated solution for the maintenance and engineering management needs of its entire fleet of Boeing and Airbus airplanes. When delivery of the software is complete, the implementation at CAL will represent the full end-to-end Enterprise One suite, including functionality for maintenance program management; configuration management; engineering; planning, control, and execution for line, heavy, and shop maintenance; and materials management.
Using Enterprise One will help CAL to ensure compliance with aviation regulations, while increasing the overall efficiency of its maintenance operations through improved configuration management, streamlined business processes, and increased effectiveness of maintenance resources.
To meet CAL's priorities, Enterprise One will be rolled out in phases, addressing critical business areas first. Together, Mxi, Boeing, and CAL have already completed the business process analysis and solution design. In addition, the companies have developed detailed plans to ensure a smooth transition from CAL's existing systems. Implementation and deployment efforts will begin this month in a multi-phase effort to be completed in 2006.
"China Airlines, as the largest fleet operator of Boeing 747-400 Freighters, is working closely with Boeing for the continuous improvement of its fleet maintenance operations, and the implementation of Enterprise One is one of our strategic improvement programs," said Steven W.T. Lee, Senior VP Engineering & Maintenance, China Airlines. "We are looking forward to the successful phased implementation of the solution starting with engineering, planning and production control, followed by logistics management."
"Mxi is pleased to be working with Boeing to deliver to China Airlines a modern and powerful solution to the airline's maintenance and engineering management requirements," commented Matthew Tobin, Mxi's Vice President of Marketing & Alliances. "Using Mxi's Maintenix, Enterprise One provides China Airlines with an integrated system to meet their goals of improved maintenance quality, increased resource utilization, and reduced costs."
