Jaguar has spent a six-figure sum online to promote its new XK sports coupe.
The manufacturer is showcasing the car though 3D and full-screen video, developed by agency Global Beach, ahead of its launch in Q1 next year.
Visitors to Jaguar.co.uk/newxk can view various bandwidth levels of video filmed for the web. Near photographic quality clips promote the car's exterior, interior and driving experience.
Interactive areas on the web site include 'style your exterior', where users can try out different colour and wheel options. They can also explore a 360 view, designed to give the sensation of walking around the outside of the car, and the interiorfrom the passenger or driver seat.
A later phase will let users configure a car, price it and enquire about sales online, but not place an order. There is likely to be online marketing to support the launch of the car next year.
Paul Constantine, global client service director at Global Beach, said: "The car is fairly advanced in terms of its construction so, likewise, we wanted to try and push the boundaries of what we were doing. It is a true broadband experience."
