Uplogix, the leading provider of automated network support solutions, today announced that RigNet, the leading provider of managed communication services to the oil and gas industry, has selected Uplogix' Envoy to improve automation and expand manageability of network support services for its clients. RigNet will begin deploying Envoys across its core infrastructure located around the world.
"Envoy will significantly improve the efficiency and scalability of managing our core infrastructure by providing automation across our global network," said Lars Eliassen, vice president of global operations, RigNet. "The investment in Uplogix' virtual administration solution provides us with an on-site management appliance in locations that are challenging to staff therefore enabling us to expand service to our customers."
With Envoy's unique remote network management capabilities, RigNet will be in a position to accelerate the growth of its global network without having to incur significant labor costs. By reducing the burden on RigNet's IT administrators to physically manage the company's network devices, Envoy will allow RigNet to improve network availability, decrease IT costs and enhance their customer experience.
Morten Hansen, engineering manager, RigNet said, "We expect the Envoy to potentially automate 75 percent of the traditional network support and maintenance functions allowing our staff to concentrate on enhancing our network services to our customers, rather than going on expensive and time-consuming support calls."
The Envoy from Uplogix is a new network management appliance designed to reduce the dependence on network administrators to physically maintain, troubleshoot, and configure distributed network devices. Envoy's revolutionary approach to remote network management ensures a more stable, secure, and reliable distributed network that experiences less downtime and cost less to support.
"Rising network support costs are a serious concern for all large organizations, but even more so in the oil and gas industry where locations are often isolated making them even more difficult and costly to support," said Barry Cox, chief executive officer, Uplogix. "RigNet understands the value that our automation solutions can bring to this problem and we are excited to work with them to lower the cost and complexity of supporting their customers' networks."
