Citrix Wins Grand Award at Annual SoftSummit 2005; Award Honors Citrix for Raising the Bar Across Six Software Categories for Software Value Management

Posted on: Monday, 24 October 2005, 09:00 CDT

Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has received the first annual Summit Award at SoftSummit 2005. Citrix is the grand winner of all publisher categories for implementing a single licensing platform that allows customers to enjoy a streamlined and automated process to monitor, maintain and track software licenses at lower costs.

"Citrix is honored to receive this award which recognizes our mission to provide our customers value management," said Harvey Tenen, senior product manager for Citrix Systems. "We're dedicated to designing products that reduce customers' total cost of ownership while maximizing their return on investments in IT infrastructure."

Out of 31 finalists, Citrix took the grand prize proving the best in Software Value Management - http://www.softsummit.com/about_SVM.html - as determined by an independent panel of judges. The judging panel included industry analysts and top editors from organizations including AMR, CRN, Forrester, Hurwitz & Associates, IDC, Illuminata, SD Times and the SIIA. Citrix was selected as grand prize winner based on its software evaluation, flexibility of pricing and licensing, packaging, installation and distribution, automating compliance and the ease-of-doing business.

"There was fierce competition for this coveted award, but Citrix demonstrated superior value to customers with their access infrastructure solutions," said Jonathan Eunice, principal analyst at Illuminata and one of this year's Summit Awards judges. "Citrix clearly rose to the top based on its ability to raise the bar by baking software value management into its solutions."

The Summit Awards honor the software industry's leading vendors that deliver software applications that maximize value for their customers and reduce the time and cost of developing and maintaining products, as well as enterprises that excel at serving their end-users. In addition to grand prize awarded to Citrix, six Summit Awards were presented at the conference in the following categories: enterprise application management, product design automation, enterprise security and business applications.
