Oct. 22--Citrix Online in Goleta, a division of Florida-based Citrix Systems Inc., posted strong results for the third quarter and continues to increase its role in the parent company's bottom line.
For the quarter ended Sept. 30, Citrix Online contributed $26.2 million, or about 11.5 percent of the parent company's total revenue of $226.9 million.
Citrix Online has steadily increased revenues this year from about $20 million in the first quarter to $23.8 million in the second. Its latest revenue total represents a 10 percent increase over second-quarter results.
"Good momentum drove solid growth in revenue, adjusted earnings per share and cash flow," said Mark Templeton, president and chief executive officer of Citrix Systems in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
"We saw strong performance and accelerating momentum from our new products, especially with our online services, gateways and application networking product lines."
Citrix Online was formerly called ExpertCity. The name was changed after Citrix Systems purchased the company in 2004 for $241 million.
At the time the merger closed, Citrix Online had roughly 250 employees. The company now has a staff of about 300 in Goleta, and it plans to hire 50 more people by the end of the year.
