New Brocade Silkworm Switches Receive Microsoft's 'Simple SAN for Windows Server' Designation

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (Brocade(R)) today announced that its industry-leading 4 Gbit SilkWorm(R) 4100 and 200E product families are now approved and designated by Microsoft's Simple SAN for Windows Server requirements.
Microsoft designed the Simple SAN for Windows Server Program to address the small and medium sized business demand for robust, serviceable, and easy-to-deploy SAN solutions. The SilkWorm 4100 and 200E 4 Gbit/sec products have gained rapid adoption with major storage OEMs worldwide, and the milestone of gaining Microsoft's Simple SAN designation now enables storage partners to rapidly create and offer pretested Simple SAN components to customers.

The new performance-leading 4 Gbit/sec SilkWorm platforms provide 8 to 16 ports on demand (SilkWorm 200E) and 16 to 32 ports on demand (SilkWorm 4100) of enterprise-class connectivity with ease-of-use features designed to reduce complexity and lower operating costs. The SilkWorm 4100 and 200E families are currently available though Brocade OEMs and channel partners.
