Devon IT Announces the Availability of NTAVO 5.2 Appliance Server for Ultra Secure Access to Enterprise Applications
Posted on: Tuesday, 25 October 2005, 09:00 CDT
Devon IT today announced the release and general availability of the NTAVO 5.2 ultra secure access appliance. NTAVO 5.2 enhances the ability of enterprise customers to remotely and securely access corporate resources in an affordable manner.
The NTAVO 5.2 appliance provides secure access to server-based applications running on Microsoft Windows, Solaris, Linux, UNIX, Mainframe and Midrange systems from a wide variety of client platforms and devices. The appliance web-enables legacy applications quickly without costly re-writes and delivers those applications side-by-side with modern server-based applications. This allows for consolidation of critical applications and data onto highly reliable, centrally maintained servers and off individual desktop and laptop computers, improving manageability while increasing flexibility.
"The NTAVO 5.2 appliance solves the challenges presented by providing users and partners with secure access to applications," explained Joe Makoid, President, Devon IT. "Devon IT developed NTAVO as an unobtrusive appliance that acts as an application gateway for all your Windows, Linux, X11, and 3270 applications."
The NTAVO 5.2 appliance enables enterprises to securely extend their critical applications to remote users and strategic partners via PCs or a browser-based thin client. These applications can be Microsoft Windows, UNIX, Linux, Java, Mainframe and AS/400 applications. NTAVO allows you to:
-- Access applications from nearly any location on the internet over a secure connection without specialized hardware
-- Reduce costs by centralizing management of users and applications
-- Dramatically reduce the time to securely deliver applications
-- Ensure users can access only applications they are authorized to use
-- Increase resiliency by housing application sessions at the data center and not on individual PCs
-- Effectively and quickly implement a thin client solution
-- Complements Windows Terminal Services by adding application publication, seamless windows, unidriver printing, and resource-based load balancing.
NTAVO 5.2 is delivered as a server-based appliance that is ready to be installed in a data center. No software needs to be installed, and furthermore, the customer does not have the added responsibility of procuring the properly configured server. Once NTAVO 5.2 is connected to a network, only a few configuration settings (setting the IP address, network mask, and license key) are needed to complete the installation of the NTAVO 5.2 appliance. The user-friendly administration GUI is designed so that any system administrator can easily perform the setup and configuration. This eliminates the need to have specially trained resources and allows a corporation to concentrate on its core business processes.
"We have worked carefully to extend our server-based appliance to enable our customers to easily implement an ultra-secure access solution," commented Makoid. "NTAVO provides businesses of all sizes with secure remote access, effective distribution of legacy applications, simple setup and configuration, and a low total cost of ownership. Using the NTAVO Appliance, customers can quickly bridge diverse systems, secure their data, and web-enable their applications."
