Flights cancelled at US airport due to bomb threat
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- All flights were cancelled at the airport of a US west coastal city Tuesday morning due to a bomb threat, officials here said.
Authorities closed down the Long Beach Municipal Airport, some 40 kilometers south of Los Angeles, after the airport received the threat by telephone early in the morning, according to Nancy Pratt of the Long Beach Police Department.
All flights using the airport had been cancelled as police bomb- sniffing dogs were searching the airport, the spokeswoman said, adding that passengers should "anticipate delays" when the airport reopens after the search.
