ZTE's Digital Home Total Solution consists of three basic elements:

* Integrated access equipment for home networks - Home Gateway

* Home network peripheral equipment - STB, PC, Video Phone, Bluetooth mobile phone etc.

* Equipment Management System - EMS

The network structure of the ZTE Digital Home Total Solution is shown in the figure below:

1. Integrated access equipment for home networks - Home Gateway

Integrated access equipment for home networks - Home Gateway (HGW) is the core of the ZTE Digital Home Total Solution. As the integrated access gateway equipment, HGW is able to control and coordinate almost all equipment in the home. HGW acts as a connecting link between upstream and downstream resources, connecting different home application equipment as well as itself to various external networks. It improves the scope, depth and entertainment through integrating all home equipment and applications.

2. Home network peripheral equipment - STB, PC, IP Video Phone, Bluetooth mobile phone, etc.

In the ZTE Digital Home Total Solution, the home network peripheral equipment mainly consists of commonly used home devices, such as an analog telephone, fax machine, printer, MP3 player, USB devices, STB, IP Video phone, PC, Bluetooth mobile phone, wireless network adapter (desktop/laptop PC connects to the Internet through wireless network adapter), etc. Peripheral equipment can also include digital camera, PDA, TV, Webcam, or even HiFi facilities and game machines for enriching the applications of home security and home entertainments.

3. Equipment Management System -EMS

1. Triple Play Service

Triple Play Service includes data, voice and video services. HGW can easily provide VoIP, VoDSL, VOD and high speed Internet access through its abundant interface. At the same time, via wireless connection (Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth) between Laptop, PC, PDA, wireless phone/handset, or even wireless STB, and home gateway, a wireless triple play can be realize at home, to maximize the accesses to wireless broadband data, voice and video resources.

2. UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access) Service

In the ZTE Digital Home Total Solution, users can communicate with a GSM/PHS/CDMA network via a HGW. A home dual-mode handset can realize communication between a HGW and a GSM/PHS/CDMA base station.

3. Integration Service

An 'Integration Service' includes communication services among home equipment as well as communication services between home and external equipment. For example, STB can stream an MP3 file's content using a USB drive, while displaying a digital camera's image content. An HGW can transfer MP3 and picture files to an Internet server for storage; so that when needed in the future, these files can be browsed using a STB or PC.

4. Home Control Service
