Posted on: Monday, 31 October 2005, 09:00 CST

COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FileNet Corporation , the leading provider of Enterprise Content and Business Process Management solutions, today introduced system monitor solutions for its FileNet P8 platform. FileNet System Monitor enables FileNet customers to automate fault detection and fault prevention, and ensure higher availability of their FileNet P8 product suites. FileNet System Monitor solutions help system administrators quickly anticipate and correct system outages, ensuring end users are able to access FileNet systems when they need them.

More than 20 customers worldwide have already implemented FileNet System Monitor and are experiencing higher systems availability and increased systems administration productivity. Customers are able to leverage the significant investments they have already made in industry-leading enterprise systems management (ESM) software from IBM Tivoli, HP, Computer Associates, and BMC.

"The ability to monitor ECM system performance is an essential part of any organization's IT enterprise architecture strategy," said Martyn Christian, chief marketing officer for FileNet. "With FileNet System Monitor, organizations can reduce the cost of managing multiple server farms required to serve tens of thousands of FileNet users, enabling them to rely on FileNet ECM to provide them with better, faster decision making capabilities."

According to a report published last fall by Gartner Group*, IT department spending on improvements in the maintenance of existing systems, networks and applications is continuing to grow. The ability to reduce the complexity of administering and managing multiple environments for development, test, production, failover, high availability and disaster recovery is a top priority for customers as they extend the deployment of FileNet ECM to users across their enterprise. Manually managing servers across all these environments is simply not an option, as FileNet becomes an integral part of mission-critical datacenters. By providing FileNet System Monitor solutions, customers are able to deliver a better quality of service by diagnosing and predicting problems before they occur.

FileNet System Monitor for IBM Tivoli and other leading ESM products

FileNet System Monitor is a comprehensive solution that provides real- time, standards-compliant monitoring of all FileNet P8 product suites. As many FileNet customers have already implemented IBM Tivoli for managing their enterprise systems, FileNet is also delivering a specific System Monitor for Tivoli, which can plug seamlessly into the IBM Tivoli monitoring environment.

"IBM customers can now monitor the health of FileNet systems in one single view from within their existing IBM Tivoli Monitoring environment, reducing costs associated with the management of their infrastructures," said Nancy Pearson, Vice President, IBM Tivoli Marketing. "IBM Tivoli Monitoring technology delivers secure, detailed analysis to IBM customers, giving them a better understanding of what is happening on their systems."

Other key features include: * Higher availability through automated fault detection and fault prevention * Standards-based solutions that seamlessly integrate into HP OpenView, CA Unicenter, BMC Patrol and other ESM software solutions * Higher management productivity through automation of daily administration tasks * Operator console for viewing thresholds on hundreds of events and parameters * Alerts via e-mail, operator console and Short Message Service (SMS) notification * Real-time log file monitoring to detect errors of applications and systems * Knowledge transfer through best practices About FileNet
