Citrix Introduces Hospitality Voice Services, Innovative IP Telephony Applications for the Hospitality Industry; Citrix Hospitality Voice Services Packages Enable Resorts and Hotels to Deliver Superior Customer Service and Additional Revenue

Posted on: Monday, 31 October 2005, 09:00 CST

Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced Citrix Hospitality Voice Services, its new packaged IP telephony services specially designed for the hospitality industry. Citrix Hospitality Voice Services run on the Citrix Application Gateway(TM), which delivers applications to IP phones and wireless devices, and empowers resorts and casinos to offer their customers more features and personalized services for state-of-the-art in guest experiences, while also increasing revenue from advertising and on location services.

For the past few years, the hotel industry has seen a dramatic decline in telecom revenue, as more and more guests rely on cell phones or PDAs instead of paying in-room hotel telephone charges. The hotel industry has responded by deriving new revenue from high-speed access to rooms, which in turn has laid the foundation for an IP telephony infrastructure. With Hospitality Voice Services, hotels can increase revenue through value-added services available through the device that is operational 24/7 in the room - the phone. This advertising can be used to continue generating revenue in two different ways, either to promote patronage to on-property restaurants and shows or through the advertising space that is sold to local businesses near the hotel or resort.

Citrix Hospitality Voice Services comes in two packages, Gold and Silver. These packages are designed to enable the hotel or resort to self manage the operation of the applications instead of having to contract professional services every time a new advertisement or telephone button is required.

Silver Package: -- Custom hotel or resort branding. -- Customizable button screen: Nine customizable buttons that can be used for dialing (Concierge, Room Service, etc.) or links to other screens of information. -- Interactive advertising over the entire display with ability to navigate backwards and forwards to other Billboards as well as navigate to the Button Screen.

Gold Package:

All the features included in the Silver Package, plus: -- Personalized guest name welcome automatically generated from the hotel's property management system at time of guest check in. -- Broadcasting of graphics, text, audio, or any combination to the screens and speakers of the guest telephones. Ideal for news, events and emergency updates.

In addition to Hospitality Voice Services packages, Citrix also develops customized hospitality applications - enabling hotels and resorts to offer even more personalized services such as hotel property information including show, restaurant, and gaming information. These customized applications can enable guests to use the phone's screen in order to interact directly with certain functions of the property management system so that they see stored messages, set and un-set "Do Not Disturb" for housekeeping, and set wake-up calls.

"We are thrilled to be working with leaders such as Caesars Palace, Stations Casino and Wynn Resort Las Vegas to deliver new guest service solutions," said Barry Phillips, director of product marketing, Gateways Group, Citrix Systems. "Citrix IP telephony applications are providing 'personal touch' services that provide a new way for hotels and resorts interact with their customers - adding a new layer of first-class service."

Pricing and Availability

The Citrix Application Gateway has a list price of $3,995 with licenses for Hospitality Voice Services Silver and Gold packages priced at $40 and $65 per phone respectively. Initial availability is with Nortel 2007 color IP telephones.
