eLearning software developer HarvestRoad (ASX:HRD) today announced its partnership with The rSmart Group based in Phoenix, Arizona.
rSmart is a leading provider of open source application software to the Higher Education market. The rSmart suite of enterprise financial and collaborative learning applications offers colleges and universities an alternative choice that breaks down their dependence on proprietary software vendors.
Under the terms of the Partnership both organizations will non-exclusively promote one another's products and services to their respective clients in Higher Education.
Commenting on the partnership agreement, rSmart Group Chief Executive Officer, Ray Barker, said, "rSmart is very pleased to partner with HarvestRoad. Their Learning Object Repository solution, HarvestRoad Hive(R), is a synergistic fit with our application software. In particular, HarvestRoad's 'content bridge' strategy represents a highly flexible, cost effective and managed approach for institutions wishing to make the transition from proprietary-based learning delivery systems to the functionality-rich mix of open source and commercial off-the-shelf independent solutions."
The distinct features of HarvestRoad Hive(R) include its independence, flexible permission and workflow layers, extensible meta-data functionality, digital management of copyright and the ability to rapidly assemble and disassemble content all through the implementation of essential industry standards.
HarvestRoad's "content bridge" strategy offers clients the choice to migrate their content from existing vendor-locked proprietary repositories to an independent Learning Object Repository that works with the systems that create and deliver learning content.
Grame Barty, HarvestRoad Founder and Managing Director, said, "HarvestRoad is extremely pleased to partner with the rSmart Group. Our organizations share many synergies and a common purpose in providing our Higher Education market with the best possible eLearning collaborative solutions that protect their intellectual capital and save them money."
