AirTran Airways Reports Record October 2005 Traffic

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. , today reported record traffic for the month of October 2005. Revenue passenger miles, available seat miles, load factor and enplaned passengers all represent records for the month of October.

AirTran Airways’ traffic, measured by revenue passenger miles (RPMs), grew by 35.2 percent, to more than 968 million RPMs, on an increase of 25.4 percent in capacity, based on available seat miles (ASMs). October’s load factor increased to 73.1 percent, compared to 67.8 percent in October 2004. The airline enplaned more than 1.4 million passengers in the month of October, a 29.1 percent increase from October 2004.
