Inovis Strengthens Global Data Synchronization Offering

November 2, 2005

ATLANTA, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ — Inovis, a leading provider of business-to- business solutions and services, announced today it has achieved GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) Data Pool Interoperability Certification. Inovis’ certified solution, Inovis GDS Director(TM), has been approved to operate as both a source and recipient data pool in the GDSN, a global, Internet-based initiative that enables trading partners to quickly and efficiently exchange supply chain data that is accurate, up-to-date and compliant with universally supported standards.

“As more data pools successfully achieve interoperability, the vision of true global data synchronization is within reach of retailers and suppliers,” writes Christine Spivey Overby, principal analyst, Forrester. “This continued momentum is necessary in order to support the depth and breadth of data generated by RFID initiatives, and to realize the benefits of an interconnected global trading network that delivers compliance with retailers’ demands.”*

Inovis GDS Director provides a seamless gateway for Inovis Catalogue(TM) customers to exchange product information with other data pools in the GDSN. Inovis Catalogue is the industry’s leading product data synchronization application. With more than 100 million unique items, Inovis Catalogue, powered by Inovis GDS Director, is now the largest data pool in the GDSN. Inovis Catalogue enables more than 5,000 marketers, manufacturers, suppliers and retailers to share their latest product information while ensuring data integrity. The Inovis data pool offering enables users to interact with Inovis Catalogue in the same way they do today and leverage Inovis GDS Director to manage the complexity of GDSN messaging.

“Inovis has been a pioneer in data synchronization as well as the evolution of industry standards,” said Sean Feeney, president and CEO, Inovis. “Achieving GDSN certification reinforces Inovis’ support for global standards and is further validation of our unmatched experience in helping customers improve collaboration and data integrity across global trading communities.”

The GDSN Interoperability Certification testing program is overseen by the GDSN Board of Directors of GDSN Inc. and conducted by Drummond Group Inc. (DGI), a leading interoperability and conformance testing company. For a data pool to successfully complete the certification process, it must demonstrate full interoperability with all other participating data pools and the GS1 Global Registry using DGI’s Interoperability Compliance Process(R), a robust interoperability process methodology. Data pools are measured against a set of development standards established by the GS1 GDSN Task Group as well as test plans and criteria defined by DGI.
