PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Solidcore Systems, Inc., the leading provider of IT control solutions, today announced that Mr. Dilip C. Naik has been appointed to chief technology officer for Embedded Solutions at Solidcore. Solidcore's S3 Embedded solution enables its OEM partners to increase their revenue and margins while improving operational efficiency for their customers. The company recently announced that OEMs Dynamic Network Factory and Tacit Networks would be utilizing S3 Embedded in their software and appliances.
"Our success in the embedded segment of the market is driving our need for additional high-level focus and expertise," said Rosen Sharma, president and CEO at Solidcore. "We are experiencing substantial momentum in our embedded business as evidenced by recent announcements and the continuing traction of our S3 Embedded product. We have chosen Dilip to lead our technical and strategic efforts based on his experience and demonstrated leadership."
Mr. Naik has over 20 years of software industry experience with more than 12 years in various roles at Microsoft, including software engineer, program manager, and technical evangelist. He has made major contributions in the area of CIFS/SMB client server network file system protocol and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) technologies. While at Microsoft, Mr. Naik represented Microsoft on a number of industry standards organizations. Mr. Naik is the author of Inside Windows Storage published by Addison Wesley and Internet Standards & Protocols published by Microsoft Press.
"The advent of industry-standard platforms such as Windows allows OEMs to quickly develop and deploy their offerings," said Mr. Naik. "This standardization also leads to security risks such as malware attacks; however, Solidcore's S3 Embedded software gives companies the ability to achieve unprecedented security and control of products after they are deployed. It allows OEMs to test and deploy patches from the OS vendor on a scheduled basis while simultaneously ensuring that their customers are secure. Customers are also prevented from applying the rare patch that breaks device functionality."
Solidcore provides complete protection from all known and unknown risks and internal and external threats that result from developing and deploying embedded systems on open, industry-standard computing platforms such as Windows, Linux, and Java. Embedding Solidification technology into open- standards-based applications and devices allows manufacturers to realize cost efficiencies in development and allows customers to benefit from total control, compliance, and security in deployment.
Solidcore protects and secures devices of all types -- ATMs, cell phones, medical devices, PDAs, point-of-sale terminals, and storage servers, among many others -- throughout the network. The software requires no configuration or maintenance, and yet, it generates zero false positives. It introduces very little system overhead and has an insignificant footprint in deployment.
