The Wall Street Journal Radio Network Names Gordon Deal Host of ''The Wall Street Journal This Morning''

Gordon Deal has been named the new host of "The Wall Street Journal This Morning," radio's leading early-morning business-news program heard on 94 stations across the U.S. Mr. Deal will start hosting the program Nov. 21.
"The Wall Street Journal This Morning" is broadcast on radio stations nation-wide, including WLS-AM, Chicago; WPHT-AM, Philadelphia; KNEW-AM, San Francisco; KTRH-AM, Houston; KSTP-AM, Minneapolis; KFBK-AM, Sacramento; KFTK-FM, St. Louis; KOGO-AM, San Diego; and KSL, Salt Lake City. Mr. Deal also will anchor the weekend edition of the program, "The Wall Street Journal This Weekend," which covers the week's top business stories along with original weekend material.

"His understanding of what listeners need to know and the questions they'd like answered are a perfect match for the mission and format of 'The Wall Street Journal This Morning.'"
This will be Mr. Deal's second tour with The Wall Street Journal Radio Network. As a newscaster on the network's "Wall Street Journal Report" and "Dow Jones Money Report" in 2002 and 2003, he ably met all the expectations affiliates have for great business-news reporting.
Mr. Deal's solid radio background of writing and on-air work includes time at both WCBS-AM and WINS-AM in New York, as well as New York City bureau chief for Metro Networks, where his reports aired on WOR-AM and WABC-AM. He also was director of operations for Metro Networks' New York office, overseeing news content, budgets and new business development.
In his spare time, Mr. Deal is a public-address announcer for the New York Knickerbockers of the National Basketball Association and the New York Liberty of the Women's National Basketball Association at Madison Square Garden. He is a graduate of Rutgers University and resides in New Jersey.
