‘Read and Return Program’ Popular With Air Travelers
By DEB ACORD THE GAZETTE
If you’ve been looking for a reason to fly, this could be it: a “Read and Return Program” at The Paradies Shops at the Colorado Springs Airport and airports throughout the country.
Here’s how it works: You buy a copy of “The Da Vinci Code” or any other best-seller at the shop at the Colorado Springs Airport and read it on your trip.
On the way to, say, Toronto via Denver, you finish it somewhere over Duluth, Minn. When you get to the Toronto airport, you trade it in at a Paradies there and get half your money back.
The program works with any book in the store, and books can be returned (with a receipt) to any participating airport shop within six months.
Tammy Jarpe, manager of the Colorado Springs Airport shop, says the program has been in place for about a year. “It’s very popular,” she says.
