Spirit Airlines Reports October 2005 Traffic

November 8, 2005

Spirit Airlines reports October 2005 traffic. Spirit carried 279,468 passengers, 20% fewer than last October. Spirit achieved a 76.5% load factor, which was 4.2 points lower than October 2004. Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) reached 267,842,000 and Available Seat Miles (ASMs) reached 350,341,000.

“We aggressively managed our fall schedule capacity to fly less in October. The reductions were made through a strategy to optimize revenue versus volume and our results have met expectations,” said Ben Baldanza, president and chief operating officer of Spirit Airlines. “Our expedited fleet transition to new fuel-efficient Airbus aircraft continues to move forward and we are currently flying 14 Airbus aircraft with 2 more deliveries expected before the end of the year. Future bookings are robust including our new Caribbean markets. I’m encouraged by our results as they reflect a successful strategy that will take us through this challenging environment.”
