Russian Company Begins Offering Satellite Communication Services

Posted on: Saturday, 12 November 2005, 00:00 CST

MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - The Russian Satellite Communications Company starts offering in November communication and broadcasting services from its new Express-A4 and Express-A2 satellites, a company release says.

Thus the company "is expanding the zone of coverage by the Russian government-owned satellite fleet and strengthening its positions as a global operator on the international satellite communication market," the release says.

Thanks to the launch of five new satellites of the Express-AM series and the transfer of users of the existing satellite networks to the new satellites, the company can regroup its satellite fleet. "The approach expands the chances of clients to organize networks of satellite communication and broadcasting in the C and Ku wavebands in Russia and aboard and helps protect Russia's orbital frequency resources," the release says.

The services from Express-A4 cover the territory of Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the East coast of North America. The global satellite beam also helps services in Central and South America and Africa. Express-A2 offers steady coverage of Central Russia, the Urals, Siberia, the Far East and most Asian nations. Its global beam covers the territory of Asia, the Pacific and Australia.
