Collaboration will enable operators to offer high bandwidth, on-demand services efficiently, reliably, and with guaranteed quality to enhance the subscribers' experience
Camiant, the leading provider of Policy Server solutions that enable the flawless delivery of all IP-based multimedia applications, and JacobsRimell, the leading provider of customer-centric IP service fulfillment solutions, today announced a partnership that will enable telecom operators to deliver a wider range of IMS-based advanced multimedia IP applications with better service levels and for pay-as-you-go users using real-time allocation of resources to maintain QoS (quality of service).
The seamless integration of the two companies' technologies delivers a turn key solution so service providers can:
-- Seamlessly deliver IMS-based applications with guaranteed QoS on a per session basis, ensuring the highest service levels for users;
-- Ensure the efficient and dynamic allocation of bandwidth for premium applications from online multiplayer video games to VoIP (voice-over-IP);
-- Offer "bandwidth boost" services, on demand, with no service interruption, for customers wishing to upgrade or for those wishing to have access on a pay-as-you go basis;
-- Enhance the customer experience by offering self care service adoption and configuration facilities; and
-- Increase customer service levels and ARPU (average revenue per user) through the rapid addition of more appealing and innovative services.
David Scholnick, Vice President, North American Channels for JacobsRimell, said, "To accommodate the use of advanced multimedia applications, as well as having the ability to offer innovative short term service offerings that help retain and attract new customers to new services, our technology partnership with Camiant makes it easier for operators to automate the delivery of high bandwidth products and services giving users a superior experience."
"With the explosive growth and demand for advanced multimedia applications, the need to integrate with a proven OSS platform is essential in order to create and deliver new services so that customers can adopt them on an as-needed or pay-as-you-go basis. Camiant's integration with JacobsRimell for a joint customer support of SIP-based enhanced telephony has been a significant testament to the value of our combined solution. By joining forces with JacobsRimell, we are ensuring that service providers can create and deliver new products without interrupting, or degrading customer service levels," said Edward Delaney, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development for Camiant.
JacobsRimell's Adaptive Provisioning System (APS(TM)), which provides operators with a single platform delivering service fulfillment and management for multiple IP-based services has been integrated and tested with Camiant's QBUS(TM) Multimedia Service Controller (MSC). This is the centerpiece of the QBUS product portfolio and enables detailed real-time control of the access network, improving service quality for premium applications while allowing the operator to limit access to service abusers.
APS(TM) has proved highly successful amongst the world's largest Cable MSOs, and is operational in customers such as Comcast, NTL in the U.K., UCG Europe (Liberty Media) and Cable & Wireless, to provision over 11 million subscribers across 13 countries worldwide.
Camiant was founded on the premise that policy management will represent a key strategic technology going forward for service providers. With that, Camiant's QBUS was architected to meet the demands of policy required in next-generation converged network architectures, enabling the QBUS MSC to be truly differentiated in three critical areas - performance/scalability, high availability, and a powerful policy engine.
Camiant applies rules and enforces policies that govern how networks perform against defined multimedia applications. Based on an intelligent policy server that is both application and network state aware, the platform allows service providers to guarantee user experiences and assure quality of service. Camiant's best-in-class QBUS MSC and suite of Application Managers unleash the capabilities of broadband.
