Accipiter Hires Director of Northeast Sales; Lou Severine Brings Over Eighteen Years of Experience in Sales Management and Customer Service

Posted on: Tuesday, 15 November 2005, 09:00 CST

Accipiter Solutions, Inc., an online advertising technology innovator since 1996, today announced the company has hired a new director of northeast sales, Lou Severine. Based in the New York City/Tri State Area, Lou brings over eighteen years of experience in the areas of sales management and customer service.

Severine's expertise further reinforces Accipiter's efforts to solidify itself as the foremost industry innovator as the company continues to march into expanded market opportunities. Primarily focused on empowering Web publishers, media networks, and eTailers to maximize their online ad revenue stream, Accipiter has begun to increase its presence in growing markets in response to customer demand.

"Hiring Lou is the first step in growing our presence in New York City," said Jeff Wood, Accipiter vice president of sales and account management. "As our director of northeast sales, we expect Lou to help us successfully expand our reach into alternate advertising mediums such as eCommerce, streaming audio/video, blogging, RSS feeds and podcasting, internet on airlines, wireless networks, and grassroots-based efforts."

Lou has held relevant positions at Digital Impact, the premier provider of online direct marketing enterprise solutions as regional vice president of sales of its east region. While there, the east region signed a number of F-1000 accounts such as AT&T, CVS, Nextel, Unilever, Primedia, Comcast, IBM, New York Life, and AOL/Time Warner.

In addition to Digital Impact, Severine spent a number of years in various executive-level sales-related positions with WHIZBANG! Labs, Inc., a global provider of information extraction technologies and services, Covad Communications, a provider of broadband communication, VPN, and content hosting services, and SkyTel, Inc., an MCI WorldCom company recognized worldwide as the premier wireless messaging company. Severine's experience has allowed him to facilitate contracts with such high-profile clients as Dunn & Bradstreet, Phillip Morris, AT&T, PaineWebber, ABC/ESPN, Fox Television, and Merck/Medco.

Severine's hiring comes at a crucial time of growth for Accipiter. After receiving a $2M capital infusion at the beginning of this year, the company has been on an accelerated growth track as compared to other industry players, increasing industry awareness, developing new technologies, and building a strong infrastructure. Accipiter initially estimated a 30% employee growth plan for the year. However, Accipiter's employee infrastructure has already grown 50% over the course of this year.

"With Lou's addition helping us build an even stronger foundation, we expect to take advantage of new market opportunities and grow our profitability margin even more," said Wood.
