SoonR Now Embraces X1(R) Desktop Search Solution to Enable Remote Access to Information Stored on the Desktop
SoonR, the first provider of secure mobile access to your PC over any network from any handset, announced today that they will provide a new service that enables their customers to use desktop search from any mobile device. X1 Technologies, a leader in desktop and enterprise search, has partnered with SoonR to enhance the new service by enabling any file, email, contact or event that has been indexed with X1 on the desktop, can be found, reviewed, retrieved and forwarded from any mobile device with data access. This partnership provides SoonR customers with the ability to search information remotely.
SoonR will leverage X1's SDK (Software Development Kit) to provide seamless integration into the SoonR service. SoonR will add functionality to its core service to allow the presentation of the X1 desktop search results on mobile phones and PDAs. This integration enables mobile access to gigabytes of data on any PC hard drive, as well as the ability to search information using X1 Desktop Search solution, read and send email, retrieve scheduled meetings, manage contacts and share files instantly -- all for no additional cost over the basic data service fees of the mobile provider.
"We believe that remote search is especially relevant as we remove the traditional boundaries between stationary PCs and remote devices," said Martin Frid-Nielsen, CEO of SoonR. "The combination of these technologies gives users an easier way to access any information stored on their desktop from any mobile device."
"We are very excited that development partners like SoonR have selected X1(R) Desktop Search to build value-added solutions for the mobile marketplace," said Josh Jacobs, president, X1 Technologies. "We're delighted to provide users of SoonR's services with a rich search experience on their digital assets, which will enable them to be substantially more productive."
Only the SoonR enabled service offers the combination of X1 desktop search on mobile devices and SoonR's rich handset and carrier independent environment worldwide.
