VoIP phone services available in Singapore's Changi Airport

SINGAPORE, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Singapore-based voice over internet protocol (VoIP) provider MediaRing has offered its budget phone services in Singapore's Changi Airport, according to Channel NewsAsia report on Wednesday.

Travelers making VoIP phone calls can save 80 percent of their money as compared with using international telephone services provided by the Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) and StarHub.

They only need to deposit a fee to MediaRing's personnel before making a phone call and collect the change left after the call, instead of taking the trouble to buy a phone card and find a telephone booth, according the provider.

Two lounges with a total of 23 individual VoIP booths have been set up in the transit areas of the Changi Airport.

Offering seven-day free international calls as a promotion at Changi, MediaRing hopes to provide such services in other airports, the report said.
