Beta Systems Announces Version 4 of Its SAM Jupiter Identity Management Solution

GREENBELT, Md., Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Beta Systems Software AG (Prime Standard: BSS on the German stock exchange), a leading supplier of security and identity management (IdM) solutions, today announced Version 4 of SAM Jupiter, its identity and access management solution. Companies use SAM Jupiter to automate critical user management processes, including the creation and deletion of user accounts and to define and enforce enterprise-wide security policies. This enables businesses to cut administration costs while increasing the level of security within the company. New features in Version 4 include availability for UNIX and Windows in addition to mainframe platforms; easier customization of the solution to meet company-specific needs; and an extended graphical user interface for managing system utilities.

The new version has a pure Java Business Server, offering customers the broadest choice of production environments by enabling them to run SAM Jupiter on UNIX, Windows or z/OS platforms. The new graphical user interface for starting and controlling system utilities increases the solution's ease of use for administrators. In addition, the product is easy to configure due to the administrator GUI and the use of XML files. In most cases it is not necessary to write scripts or other programs for the integration of the solution. This facility reduces the time and effort required for the integration of SAM Jupiter into the IdM infrastructure and provides a long-term reduction in ongoing operational costs.
