Solarflare Announces Expansion of Executive Team With New Sales, Marketing, and Operations Executives

IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Solarflare Communications, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, today announced the addition of three key executives to its leadership team. The company named Jim Perrott as vice president of sales and business development, Tim Heenan to the position of vice president of operations, and Bruce Tolley as director of marketing. All three will report directly to Russell Stern, CEO of Solarflare.

James Perrott, responsible for worldwide sales and customer support, has more than 19 years of experience in executive-level semiconductor sales and sales management, both domestically and internationally. Most recently, he was vice president of worldwide sales for Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (AMCC), a semiconductor provider for communications infrastructure and enterprise storage networking in San Diego. Jim holds a bachelor's of science degree from Florida State University.

Tim Heenan is responsible for all operations of the company. He previously served as the vice president of operations for Applied Micro Circuits Corporation's (AMCC) Switching and Network Processing Group. He joined AMCC in 2000 through the acquisition of MMC Networks, where he had served as vice president of operations. Prior to MMC Networks, Tim spent 11 years at Cirrus Logic, Inc., where he led the company's worldwide test operations and quality and reliability operations. Before his tenure at Cirrus Logic, he held various engineering positions at Signetics Corporation. Tim holds a B.S. in materials engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.S. in engineering management from Santa Clara University.

Bruce Tolley is responsible for all marketing activities. Prior to joining Solarflare, he was a senior product line manager at Cisco Systems (CSCO) where he managed the Ethernet transceiver business. While at Cisco he managed product life cycles and launched Metro Ethernet, 10 Gigabit, and 1000BASE-T switch solutions. Formerly Study Group Chair of the IEEE 802.3aq 10GBASE-LRM standards project, Bruce is a frequent contributor to the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standards projects and served as an officer of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance and the Gigabit Ethernet Alliance. Prior to Cisco, he served in various marketing management roles at 3Com Corporation (COMS) where, among other accomplishments, he launched 3Com's first Gigabit Ethernet products. Bruce holds a B.A. from U.C. Santa Cruz, an M.A. from Stanford University, an M.B.A. from Haas School of Business, U.C. Berkeley, and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.
